چکیده

Recent years have seen an increasing interest of multiagent system research in employing the theory of argumentation for the development of communication protocols. While significant progress has been made in formalising argument-based communication, (possibly adaptive) agent-level argumentation strategies as a practical integration of rational agent reasoning and inter-agent dialogue have received fairly little attention. In this paper we propose an implementation of a simplified form of argument-based negotiation using a generic social reasoning framework. This framework allows for strategic and adaptive communication towards private goals within the limits of rationality. The feasibility of the approach is illustrated in an agent-based web linkage scenario, showing that its performance is comparable to that of simple proposal-based negotiation while imposing much stricter and much more realistic constraints.

On Learning Negotiation Strategies by Artificial Adaptive Agents in Environments of Incomplete Information

Automated negotiation by artificial adaptive agents (AAAs) holds great promise for electronic commerce, but non-trivial, practical issues remain. Published studies of AAA learning of negotiation strategies have been based on artificial environments that include complete payoff information for both sides of the bargaining table. This is not realistic in applied contexts. Without loss of generali...

Adaptive Negotiation Strategies

Adaptive negotiation strategies are the strategies that are used in the adaptive negotiation model. There are mainly three adaptive negotiation strategies Conceder, Constant, Boulware. These strategies depend upon the utility function and time deadline. The Adaptive negotiation strategies describes the behaviour of the buyer or the nature of the buyer. The nature of buyer depends on the experie...

Adaptive Tuning of Model Predictive Control Parameters based on Analytical Results

In dealing with model predictive controllers (MPC), controller tuning is a key design step. Various tuning methods are proposed in the literature which can be categorized as heuristic, numerical and analytical methods. Among the available tuning methods, analytical approaches are more interesting and useful. This paper is based on a proposed analytical MPC tuning approach for plants can be appr...

An Infrastructure for Rule-Driven Negotiating Software Agents

Most strategy-enabled automated negotiation platforms use hard-coded, predefined, and non-adaptive negotiation strategies. This is evidently insufficient in regard to the ambitions of automated negotiations research. In this paper, we introduce INSULA, an infrastructure for representing, managing, and exploring negotiation strategies that is versatile, easy to use, and that encompasses a wide s...
